    Description:

    Westfield Australia is a large retail property group which undertake ownership, development, design, construction, funds and asset management, property management, leasing and marketing of world class shopping centres.  Trading information (e.g. rent, turnover, occupancy cost, lease expiry date etc) that can be intuitively viewed and analysed is important to support client relationships, improve Centre management and assist retailers. To support business decisions and satisfy reporting needs Westfield Australia embarked on implementation of a new GIS mapping system.  It provided new functionality for Westfield staff to interactively view the location of all Shops, Kiosks, merchandising sites and other Centre assets in relation with selected financial and business data. Westfield engaged Corporate GIS Consultants to select and appoint a supplier that can deliver the best solution to meet Westfield business requirements and provide both quality, and value for money outcomes.  A functional requirement specification and tender documentation was developed to facilitate GIS vendor responses and ensure that the proposed system solution can fully satisfy functional requirements, satisfy growing business demands and be compatible with Westfield’s High Level Technical Architecture.

    VicTrack engaged Corporate GIS Consultants to provide assistance with the development of a comprehensive set of tender documentation for the acquisition of an enterprise GIS.  The assignment involved supplementing existing documentation that outlined system functional requirements with additional business and technology requirements.  Additional, it involved the preparation of all tender related documentation including response schedules.  Carole’s role on the project included defining the assignment approach, project plan, overall direction and project management (including quality control).

    City West Water commissioned Corporate GIS Consultants to develop a comprehensive set of tender documentation and specifications for release to tenderers to acquire a new GIS system.  The documentation included technical / functional specifications and all business and commercial aspects.  The assignment included the development of detailed evaluation methodologies and plans to support the evaluation process.  Tenders were released to a short-list of vendors for subsequent evaluation and benchmarking. Corporate GIS Consultants facilitated the evaluation and selection process.

    Stockland retained Corporate GIS Consultants to develop a specification (and subsequent tender document) to acquire a GIS which would provide land management services, including Business Intelligence capability for the corporation.  The major focus of Stockland is in developing, apartments, shopping centres, commercial estates and hotel complexes.  Operations are across Australia with the focus of the GIS being on Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and to a lesser extent, Brisbane.  Corporate GIS Consultants were also retained to assist Stockland staff go through the tender evaluation process and select a product capable of meeting their requirements.

    Corporate GIS Consultants developed the specification for the spatial aspects to the tender for a new operating environment for all of the 48 Boards in NSW.  This built on the work undertaken by other consultants to define the business systems.  The spatial environment was aligned to work closely with the Board’s major stakeholders, eg NSW Agriculture and Land and Property Information.  The specification was subsequently released for tender and a system selected.

    Description:

    Corporate GIS Consultants provided assistance to the ACT Emergency Services Bureau (part of the Dept of Justice) to develop the GIS component of a requirements and tender for a Computer Aided Dispatch System for Fire and Ambulance Services in the Territory.  The tender was subsequently released and evaluated.  A significant component of this procurement was to ensure that the data requirements of the planned system correlated with the existing SDMS (Spatial Data Management System) under development by Planning and Land Management (PALM) and the future Geographic Information Management (GIM) Environment for the Dept of Urban Services.

    Description:

    Bruce Douglas undertook a review of the needs of the Mine Subsidence Board for an Information Management System (IMS) Environment incorporating Spatial Information System, Document Management Systems, Property Management Systems as well as Office Automation.  This review was based upon developing a tender for the subsequent procurement of an integrated IMS environment to replace the existing environments and legacy systems.  The specification was completed, the tender released and evaluated in mid 2002.  Corporate GIS Consultants were then retained to assist the Board in evaluating the tenders and negotiating the contract with the preferred tenderer.

    Corporate GIS Consultants were selected to create a specification for the development of a Survey Information System (SIS) for Qld Main Roads using a variety of web based GIS tools.  This specification was subsequently tendered with Corporate GIS Consultants providing independent assistance in the tender evaluation process.  This tender was let to ERSIS Australia for development and implementation in a number of Main Roads Districts around Queensland.

    Description:

    Corporate GIS Consultants were selected to develop a Digital Road Network Standard from previous work undertaken on each of the separate components _ Spatial Accuracy, Road Classifications and Attribute Contents. This project resulted in a draft standard which, after substantial industry consultation, was submitted to the Queensland Spatial Information Infrastructure Council (QSIIC) for ratification.

    Description:

    Corporate GIS Consultants was appointed advisor to the Price Waterhouse Urwick, NZ, Core Land Record Design project to develop a corporate model of the data requirements for the merged Land Titles Office and Survey business under the umbrella of LINZ. This project is crucial to the ongoing development of LINZ and preceded the detailed Core Land Records User Requirements project and the subsequent system construction.

    This project then led to subsequent steps in the development of user requirements for the Geodetic Management System (GMS) and the Core Land Information Management System (CRiMS). This project proceeded through the preliminary design stage into the detailed design with an enlarged project team of over 20 consultants.

    Description:

    Management of the development of a functional specification for the Property Asset Management System (PAMS) to manage the property estate of PTC. This functional specification was developed so that it could be tendered for system development subsequent to completion of the project. The team developing the specification undertook a user requirements analysis, a specification development including data flow diagrams, data models, designing data inputs/outputs and interfaces and acceptance test specifications for the construction of the final system. This system would operate in the GIS environment then in use at PTC. Bruce then led the team which successfully tendered to construct PAMS in a joint Oracle and Intergraph MGE environment. This project was undertaken on contract to Price Waterhouse Urwick.

    Description:

    Price Waterhouse Urwick was retained as the project manager for the development of a tender and implementation of a Computer Aided Dispatch system for Police, Fire, Ambulance and SES in Victoria. Corporate GIS Consultants provided specialist GIS skills on the project team involved in defining GIS requirements, developing the tender specification and interfacing into the requirements for Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) utilising GPS and GIS technologies. This also involved leading the technical team in the evaluation and benchmarking (including undertaking a number of scenario's) of the shortlisted systems leading to a recommendation to select a preferred supplier. This project was undertaken on contract to Price Waterhouse Urwick.

    Description:

    Contract Project Manager of the Emergency Services GIS Mapping and Analysis Program (ESMAP) for three months to implement GIS into all the services within the Portfolio of Police and Emergency Services. These services included Police, Fire, Ambulance, Counter Disaster Management (including SES), Chemical Hazards Unit and the Aviation Division. The project had been running for some 12 months and was experiencing difficulties in direction, meeting user expectations and in providing a technology delivery mechanism for the upcoming Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system which had a large GIS component. This project role involved creating defining the business and service delivery strategies which GIS was to support, developing a project plan based on this strategy, managing the existing pilot projects, ensuring that all development was to the common strategy and putting in place the organisational mechanism to ensure that the project moved forward. This project was undertaken on contract to Price Waterhouse Urwick.

    Description:

    Corporate GIS Consultants were selected to develop technical and functional specifications for the acquisition of GIS and Data Capture/Conversion services for the North Queensland Electricity Board. These specifications were based upon an analysis of NORQEB business requirements, and were subject to extensive functional fit with vendor requirements as part of the process of developing an integrated Asset Management and GIS solution using two major products. The data capture and conversion project will consist of up to 8 contracts to capture all utility information for over 100,000 poles in the NORQEB network as well as to convert a large number of existing paper documents.
